My Method
I begin with an assessment not just of ‘need’ or difficulty, but ‘how’ it is that you approach your working process and progression towards your goals. This involves some background inquiry and present day details - tools we use might be a bit of personal/ethnography or simple conversations. This first process covers the first and maybe second of our introductory sessions.
From there coaching moves to taking on both the large and small scale aims and hiccups. I encourage clients to bring all large and small scale goals and hiccups therein - decisions and questions. NOT because I shall tell you want to do - heck no! - Coaching is a process of breaking down and connection building so YOU have greater agency and wisdom to master what arise now as well as the challenges that shall arrive - for they always do, and so together we are not to be afraid, but courageous in our approaches and forward movement.
Sometimes I think of coaching like this: a relationship where first the coach (aka me!) is a person to ask questions, offer advice as needed, and present solutions and possibilities. After, we two become colleagues in even handed discourses - a brainstorming team, combining superpowers towards YOU most stellar life/life - work/life - total/life.
